 The Red Lead Mine was one of the first recorded occurrences of crocoite in Tasmania. The Gossan was discovered in 1890 and the mine was established in the next couple of years. It is located in the Dundas region, near Zeehan on the West Coast of Tasmania, Australia. The mine has produced many fine specimens of crocoite, over the years and as operations continue it is hoped that more fine specimens will be discovered.  |
