Kapi Mine |
Page Updated October 10, 2006
The Kapi Mine is a small mine situated at North East Dundas. It has been a source of secondary lead minerals for many years.
Initial work on this lease included cleaning up the mess left by high graders. Work is continuing slowly to explore and mine across the full width of the lode.
Minerals produced in the past include, most commonly crocoite, but also cerussite, chrome cerussite, dundasite, and pyromorphite. These minerals are often intimately associated, and form attractive combinations. Linarite has also been found recently.
